There Is No Way On Earth This Home Run Was 527 Feet.....
I describe a lot of home runs as "pissed on" or "demolished" or "absolutely destroyed", this ball was all three of these. Absolutely, no doubt about it, murdered and hit a mile. Leandro Cedeno of the Double-A Amarillo Sod Poodles hit one of the farthest home runs any of us have ever seen at "527" feet. I'm calling bullshit.
I think it was farther.
KFC broke it down for us a little.
113 MPH exit velo on this bad boy too, it FLEW across that parking lot and into the tree. That has to be like 550 feet minimum. Across the street too, way longer than 527, hell it may be 600 feet. There's just no way this was only 527, it has to be more.
I think it landed next to the building ABOVE the furniture store, just insane. It's the farthest home run tracked by Statcast….ever. Like farther than any MLB homer since stat cast came to be. Just insane. I simply cannot truly believe how far it went. Kind of disrespectful that the CF even took at step in that direction too, the ball landed in another zip code buddy. He should also automatically get a bid into the Home Run Derby. I don't make the rules but if you hit a 580 foot homer like this probably was you get to come hit bombs in the derby. 527 is definitely on the shorter side, closer to 600 for sure.
